Description	:	Paul was born December 20, 1923, to Frank and Virgio (Mcabee) Meyer, Sr. He grew up east of Sturgis in Bear Butte Valley on his parent's ranch helping them farm wheat and milo. As a youth, Paul built and raced Shetland pony chariots. He attended school at the Meyers School about one mile away from the farm until ninth grade when he completed his GED and moved to Sturgis. As a youth, Paul built and raced Shetland pony chariots. He attended school at the Meyers School about one mile away from the farm until ninth grade when he completed his GED and moved to Sturgis. He then worked for Fort Meade as a nursing assistant for 31 years until his retirement in 1980. In 1985, he married Audrey Bartlett and together they enjoyed travelling to Quartzsite, AZ, every winter. Paul was one that was always willing to help fix things and was a very good handyman. Some of his hobbies included water skiing, flying remote control airplanes, and piloting his own Piper Cub. He really enjoyed doing woodwork and making clocks, and helped with the Threshing Bee for several years as well as making pancakes for the Sturgis Senior Center. Paul greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids. Paul E. Meyer, 88, passed away on November 15, 2012, at Sturgis Regional Hospital. Paul is survived by his wife, Audrey of Spearfish; one daughter; one sister; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leroy; daughter, Connie Lisby; sisters, Agnes and Francis; and brothers, Leo, Albert, Ted, Henry, and Frankie. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with Father Arnold Kari officiating. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established to a fund for the benefit of Paul's daughter, Marilyn.
