Description	:	WOOD RIVER — Paul E. Stutzman, 80, of Wood River died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wood River Mennonite Church in Wood River, with the Rev. Matt Troyer-Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Wood River Mennonite Cemetery at Wood River. Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River is serving the family. Mr. Stutzman was born May 16, 1933, at the old George Meyer place near Wood River, the son of Clarence D. and Ethel I. (Jantzi) Stutzman. He grew up in Wood River, receiving his education from Wood River High School, graduating with the class of 1950. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Stutzman on Sept. 21, 1956, in Seward County, Neb. The couple made their home in Wood River, where Mr. Stutzman farmed. Paul also worked livestock sales at Grand Island Livestock for over 20 years. He was a member of Wood River Mennonite Church, where he was a church Elder. He served for several terms on the FSA Board, District 24 School Board, Board of Directors Farmers Co-op in Wood River and was a member of the Grand Island Saddle Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending winters in Phoenix, and going to coffee with his friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and going to their activities. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Wood River; three sons and daughters-in-law, Allan E. and Beverly Stutzman of Wood River, Michael L. Stutzman and Jolyne Nelsen of Grand Island, Bradley D. and Crystal Stutzman of Wood River; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori J. and Rex Kennel of Shickley; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Stutzman of Wood River; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Merna Boshart of Wood River and Phyllis and Dennis Bauman of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janelle Stoltzfus; and two sisters, Loretta Boshart and Thelma Stutzman.
