He departed this life on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 77 years. Paul was united in marriage to Willa Mae Petty on February 10, 1959 at Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, two sons and two daughters. Paul and Willa made their home in the Lawrence and Nelson communities. Together they owned and operated the Lawrence Grocery Store for 4 years and then moved to Nelson where Paul was employed at the Meat Animal Research Center near Clay Center, NE for 35 years. Paul loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his Huskers and Royals. Often on Sunday mornings Paul would listen to his polkas show on the radio. Paul had been a long time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson and the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eddie and Alois Jr and his son-in-law Mike Lynch. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Willa Mae Schutte of Nelson, NE; sons: John Schutte and wife Shari of Nelson, NE; Allen Schutte and wife Sue of Elkhorn, NE; daughters: Mary Lynch of Elkhorn, NE; and Paula Dahl and husband Tom of Deshler, NE; nine grandchildren: Josh and Brittney Lynch; Randi and Ridge Schutte; Whitney, Ashley and Briana Dahl, Kaylee and Jaycee Schutte; great granddaughter Jasmine, brothers Marian Schutte of Grand Island, NE; Howard Schutte of Hastings, NE; Ray Schutte of Hastings, NE; Don Schutte of Kearney, NE; sisters Marilyn Svoboda of Lawrence, NE; Carolyn Kitten of Hastings, NE; Ellen Kistler of Aurora, NE: and Sharon Willmes of Roseland, NE; nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m., November 19, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Brad Zitek officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8 am to 4 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Superior and from 5 pm to 7 pm with a rosary being held at 7:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson, NE. Burial will be held in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com. Memorials to the Schutte Family.
