The funeral was Monday at 10:30 a.m., from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Phil Thomas officiated at the services. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. One of 13 children, he was born to Arthur and Iva Isadora Finney Ball, Feb. 24, 1916. He was educated in the Webber Schools. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. April 23, 1942, he was united in marriage to Bertha Burch in Beloit. This union was blessed with five children. Ball had retired from the Ideal Basic Industries, where he worked as a loader of cement for the company. June 26, 1957, he became a member of the First Baptist Church in Superior. He was baptized by Pastor Bryant Currier. Preceding him in death were his parents; a granddaughter, Danielle Baylie; three sisters, Elva Edgar, Muriel Blair and Lillie Thomas; three baby sisters, who died in infancy; and a brother, Ray. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; one son, Richard, San Diego, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Griess (Sharon) of Lincoln, Mrs. Roger Biltoft (Diane) of Oak, Mrs. Robert Hoffman (Marilyn) of Juniata and Mrs. Randy Baylie (Janis) of Superior; three brothers, Arba Ball and Clarence Ball of Superior and Carl Ball of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Opal Waudby of Bentonville, Ark., and Hazel Laeffler of Joplin, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Ryoka, Mayuko, Bryan, Julie, Mason, Aaron, Melissa, Ashley and Abbey; and many other relatives.
