I believe that Ruth, age 6, was Paul's stepdaughter, Ruth Lutz named in his obituary below. ------------------------------------------ Obituary From “The Ottumwa Courier,” February 28, 1994: OTTUMWA–Paul Leroy Kolosick, 81, of Ottumwa died Feb. 26, 1994, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born June 1, 1912, in Washington, Iowa, to Edward James and Ida Ellen Florang Kolosick. He married Rita Mae Hickman in 1963 in Ottumwa. She died in 1986. He retired from John Morrell & Co., in 1974. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He is survived by a son, Paul Kolosick Jr. of Glenview, Ill.; three daughters, Delores Call of Columbus City, Pauline Brown and Patricia Young of Washington, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Rhoads of Ottumwa and Ruth Lutz of Hot Springs, Ark.; a stepson, Larry Hickman of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren. The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Memories Chapel, Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Anthony Herold of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum in Ottumwa. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family’s choice.
