Weaver, 81, of Ellensburg, a retired dentist, died Tuesday at his home. Born in Ellensburg on March 26, 1906, he was a son of pioneer parents Clyde and Daisy (Prater) Weaver. Following graduation from Ellensburg High School, he attended Washington State University, North Pacific College and the University of Oregon dental schools. Weaver, 81, of Ellensburg, a retired dentist, died Tuesday at his home. Born in Ellensburg on March 26, 1906, he was a son of pioneer parents Clyde and Daisy (Prater) Weaver. Following graduation from Ellensburg High School, he attended Washington State University, North Pacific College and the University of Oregon dental schools. He was affiliated with Phi Delta Theta social fraternity and Delta Sigma Delta professional fraternity. Upon completion of his schooling, Dr. Weaver operated a dental practice in Ellensburg for six years before moving to Seattle to continue his density work. During World War II, he served as a captain in the U. S. Army Dental corps, returning to Seattle upon discharge in 1945. Active in professional organizations, Dr. Weaver was a life member of the Seattle-King County Dental Society, Washington State and American Dental Associations and the Academy of Gold Foil Operators. He also served as president and treasurer of those county and state groups. He was a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He served three years on the Washington State Board of Dental Examiners and also as secretary and treasurer of that body. He was honored as Washington General Dentist of the Year in 1968. Dr. Weaver and Florence Williams were married in Renton on July 11, 1936. She preceded him in death on December 7, 1971, and he later retired and returned to the Kittitas Valley to make his home. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was active in the Ellensburg Kiwanis Club, serving as president and lieutenant governor. Survivors include two sons, Paul J. Weaver, Ellensburg, and Robert H. Weaver, Yakima; a daughter, Nancy J. St. George, Mercer Island; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Shelton, Graham, Washington. Evening visitation for friends is set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Cotton Chapel, Ellensburg. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday at Cotton Chapel. The Rev. Greg Zimmer will officiate and burial will follow at Thorp Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of donor's choice. -END-
