Harlan, Iowa Tribune Tuesday September 24, 2013 page 7A Paul Edmondson, 81 June 19, 1932 - Sept. 17, 2013 BELLA VISTA, AR –– Paul Richard Edmondson, the son of Verner and Elma (Ford) Edmondson was born on June 19, 1932 near Zion. He attended and graduated from Zion High School in 1950. October 17, 1954, Paul married JoAnn Olson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Irwin. This union was blessed by the birth of four children; Richard, Jerry, Carol and Karl. The couple spent most of their early years living in Council Bluffs where Paul worked as a truck driver and JoAnn cared for their home. In 1975, they moved to JoAnn’s family farm near Irwin where they lived until they retired to Bella Vista, AR in 1999. In 2003 his wife JoAnn passed away. In October of 2005 Paul and Audrey Neff were joined in the eyes of God and they resided in Bella Vista, AR. They enjoyed traveling the USA and spending quality time with family. Paul Edmondson died on September 17, 2013 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR, having reached the age of 81 years, 2 months and 29 days. Paul was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Edmondson(Olson); parents, Verner and Elma; two brothers, Leland in infancy and William as well as one sister, Verna Lindstrom. He is survived by his companion Audrey Neff, his four children; Richard Edmondson of St. George, UT, Jerry Edmondson of Des Moines, Carol Edmondson of Bella Vista, AR and Karl Edmondson of Trabuco Canyon, CA; two brothers, Walter (Sonny) and Byron; one sister, Dottie McCaughtry; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Edmondson, Amy Edmondson, Elijah Edmondson, Jericho Edmondson, Jesse Schwieso, Jason Schwieso, Cody Schwieso, as well as numerous relatives, extended family and friends. As we pay our last respects to Paul Edmondson, let us remember his friendliness, faithfulness and good works. We cannot thank God enough for the Love and Fellowship he has allowed us to share with Paul. Paul’s love of off-road motorcycling, ATVing and his desire to share this love with the youth throughout his life will be a big part of his legacy. His concern for others and devotion to his family will always be remembered and will continue to influence every area of our lives, for this we are eternally grateful. They enjoyed church and community activities, traveling the USA and spending quality time with family. Paul has had a loving and mutual relationship with his and Audrey's children, Kent Neff of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nancy Speltz, St. Joseph, Missouri, Candice Hebar of Bella Vista, Arkansas as well as all the Grandchildren. They all loved "Poppa Paul". He loved children and had great joy in teaching any child the "Art" of fishing and 4-wheeling, "Keeps them out of trouble!" he would say. His grandchildren will have many happy memories of that kind, loving and thoughtful Grandfather. Paul is survived by his companion Audrey Neff, his four children; Richard Edmondson of St. George, Utah, Jerry Edmondson of Des Moines, Iowa, Carol Edmondson of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Karl Edmondson of Trabuco Canyon, California, two brothers; Walter (Sonny) and Byron, one sister; Dottie McCaughtry and seven grandchildren as well as extended family, numerous other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Edmondson(Olson), parents Verner and Elma, two brothers, Leland in infancy and William as well as one sister, Verna Lindstrom.
