Read More	Paul was the son of Paul Stoffel and Rosie Leck. He married Mary Schroeder on 27 August 1901 in Arcadia, Iowa. They were the parents of Mathilda, Henrietta, Alvin, and Harold. March 28, 1928 - Carroll Times - Paul Stoffel died at his home, 515 North Clark street, Saturday evening, March 24, after being in failing health for over a year and bedfast for the last three months. His ailment was a diabetic trouble coupled with asthma. Mr. Stoffel was born at Krier Trice, in the Rhine Province, Germany, September 14, 1868, and when 19 years of age came to America, locating at Dubuque, where he remained a number of years. From there he went to Templeton and was married August 27, 1901, at Arcadia, in the St. John's Catholic church, to Miss Mary Schroeder. The home was then established in Arcadia and Mr. Stoffel became one of the business men in that town. Four years later the family located at Elgin, Neb., where Mr. Stoffel entered business, having sold his business interests at Arcadia. Eight years ago the family moved to Carroll to their present home on North Clark street, and Mr. Stoffel entered the employ of the Chicago Northwestern railway company, working for this company until his health forbade, a year ago. Mrs. Stoffel and four children survive: Mrs. Mathilda Smith of Chicago; Henrietta, Alvin, and Harold, at home. One son, Francis, died at the age of two and a half years. One brother, John, of Fairbault, Minn., a brother and a sister in Germany and one sister, a nun, Sr. M. Remarkle, of Germany also survive. Mr. Stoffel was a devout Catholic and a member of the Holy Name and Roman Catholic Mutual societies. He was a kindly, pleasant man and during his entire illness was very patient and uncomplaining. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, March 27, at 9 o'clock, at the Ss. Peter and Paul's church, and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.
