Description	:	Paul W. Van Hoven, 81, a 61-year Wenatchee resident, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 6, 1996, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1915, to George William and Millie (Shales) Van Hoven at Denton, Mont. As a child, he moved with his family to Missouri. In 1920, they moved to Dickens, Iowa, where he started school. He continued his education in Iowa until moving with his family to Minnesota in 1932. Van Hoven, 81, a 61-year Wenatchee resident, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 6, 1996, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1915, to George William and Millie (Shales) Van Hoven at Denton, Mont. As a child, he moved with his family to Missouri. In 1920, they moved to Dickens, Iowa, where he started school. He continued his education in Iowa until moving with his family to Minnesota in 1932. While living in Minnesota, he received his rating as a Golden Gloves boxer. He entered the Civilian Conservation Corps in Minnesota, and while he was serving, his family moved to Wenatchee. Upon receiving his honorable discharge in 1935, he moved to make his home in Wenatchee. On Jan. 25, 1938, he was married to Cora L. Johnson in East Wenatchee. They made their home together in Wenatchee. Paul had worked for the railroad and on the construction of Alcoa, as well as other jobs prior to going to work for the city of Wenatchee. He continued working for the city until retiring in 1980. They have since continued to make their home in Wenatchee. He had attended Lincoln Park Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Cora L. Van Hoven, Wenatchee; one son, Lanny Van Hoven, East Wenatchee; twin daughters, Arlene Stuart and Marlene Tate, both of Wenatchee; one brother, Max Van Hoven, East Wenatchee; two sisters, Gladys Polley and Irene Smith-Mitchell, both of East Wenatchee; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Van Hoven, two brothers, Carl and Blythe Van Hoven, and one granddaughter, Debra Jensen. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee. PAUL W. VAN HOVEN - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Telford's Chapel of the Valley with the Rev. Billy Olds officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday until 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
