Description	:	Funerals of two fo the pioneer settlers of this vicinity were held Sunday afternoon, that of Mrs. P. A. Shires, mention of whose death early Thursday morning, was made in last week’s Review, being held at her late home on 2:30 o’clock, and that of Mrs. David Wilkey, being held in the Methodist Church at 3 o’clock. Mrs. Wilkey died Saturday morning at 3:00 at her home four miles southeast of Villisca. Mrs. P. A. Shires Mrs. P. A. Shires, whose maiden name was Paulina Amanda Shires, was born at Chardon, Ohio, on January 28, 1841, daughter of Jabez Hendrick and Amanda Malvina Abbey, and was married to Harvey Shires on April 2, 1864. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1886. To this union were born two children, Ella L., who died in 1890, and Charles A. of Copley, Oho. Mrs. Shies leaves also one brother, Daniel Hendricks of Polson, Montana and one sister, Mrs. Chloe Harris, who has made her home here with Mrs. Shires during the last eight years. Mrs. Shires came to Villisca 45 years ago, during all of which she lived in the residence where she died. Her funeral was preached by Dr. A. P. Walton and the singing was by Mrs. L. W. Scott, Mrs. H. H. Nordyke, J. H. Todd, and J. B. Means, with Mrs. J. S. Honeyman at the piano. The pall bearers were T. E. Wallace, F. M. Childs, G. T. Rumbaugh, S. X. Boiese, W. J. Ovaitt, and George J.
