She was the daughter of Fred C. and Nell Livingston Cramer. Pauline attended Castle Grove School No.2 and graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1934. She then attended Iowa State University. She taught for five years in the rural schools of Jones County. Pauline was at Lovell Township No.1, Castle Grove No.2 and No.8. Pauline Cramer met William Reade during Jones County rural youth activities. They were married May 22, 1941, in Castle Grove Township, Jones County, at her parents home. The couple farmed in Wyoming Township for 37 years and operated the Onslow Grain Elevator from 1967 until 1975. They retired from active farming in 1980. The couple enjoyed 25 years as winter Texans. William preceded her in death on April 8, 2000. Pauline was involved in 4-H for 25 years, as a member, then a leader, then serving on the County Committee and the Family Living Committee. She was an active member of the Onslow Presbyterian Church, the Women's Guild and Sunday School. She also belonged to the Altrurian Federated Women's Club, the Jones County Historical Society and the Farm Bureau Women's Committee. In her spare time she raised flowers, boxers and children.
