Description	:	OBIT: Mrs. Pauline F. Sharp, widow of John J. Sharp, prominent Kittitas Valley cattleman, died Monday afternoon at Sorensen Memorial Hospital. She was 79 years old. Mrs. Sharp had been hospitalized since suffering a stroke two months ago. She was born in Winston-Salem, N. C., and came to Tumwater near Olympia with her family in the ealry days. She was 79 years old. Mrs. Sharp had been hospitalized since suffering a stroke two months ago. She was born in Winston-Salem, N. C., and came to Tumwater near Olympia with her family in the ealry days. She came to Ellensburg in the early 1900s and was married to Mr. Sharp here in 1904. Her husband was a native son and a member of a pioneer Kittitas Valley family. His father, John P. Sharp, was the county's first state senator and held the first butter brand here. He operated a cattle ranch here in pre-railroad days. Mr. and Mrs. John J. Sharp made their home on the old Sharp ranch on the West Side and operated a large cattle spread on the Umtanum range. Mrs. Sharp, who died in 1939, was active in many community affairs, including the Ellensburg Rodeo. Mrs. Sharp is survived here by a sister, Mrs. James Shaw, and a nephew, Harry Shaw. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Honeycutt-Evenson Chapel, with the Rev. Miller Lovett officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
