Read More	OBIT: Death struck with mystifying suddenness this week and took from the rolls of Kittitas County pioneers two brothers, Lou L. Sharp of the West Side and John J. Sharp of Ellensburg. Lou L. Sharp died early Wednesday morning when he got up at 5:30 to build a fire in the kitchen stove. He was stricken with an attack of apoplexy and died three hours later. Both he and Mrs. Sharp had attended the upper county celebration the day before and he had retired without making any comment about feeling tired or upset. Lou attended the city schools and graduated from the Washington State College where he took an agricultural course. He returned home and engaged in farming but politics was in his blood and he was appointed by President Taft as federal land appraiser in Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. He held this position for 15 years before returning to the Kittitas Valley and resuming farming on the home place where he was born. His fist wife, the former Mary Brocken, died in 1928. In August of 1931 he married Mrs. Frankie Simpson, who survives him. Long an ardent Republican, Lou Sharp held many important offices in local Republican circles and was often credited with the election of men whom he worked for and the defeat of those he opposed. He was active in the movement which culminated in the formation of the Kittitas County Dairyman's Association and was for many years a director and at the time of his death treasurer of this cooperation. We regret the fact that The Capital is about to go to press does not permit a lengthy resume of the activities of John J. Sharp, who passed away Thursday near midnight in the Providence Hospital in Seattle where he had been for about a month and where he underwent an operation. His condition had been precarious for several days and he died without knowing of the death of his brother. John J. Sharp was one of the most respected of Kittitas Valley men. Quiet and unassuming he was, nevertheless, one of the valleys most successful stockmen. He is survived by his wife. Both men were the sons of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Sharp, who came to the valley in 1874. Both are survived by two sister, Mrs. Sherwood Pease of Ellensburg and Mrs. George Mack of Seattle. Funeral arrangements for Lou Sharp were scheduled for Saturday afternoon but the death of his brother may alter arrangements. The Ellensburg Capital, July 7, 1939
