High School; attended George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville, Tenn. (now Vanderbilt University); and the University of North Carolina School of Nursing. For 27 years she was an employee of the State of North Carolina, and retired in 1976, as Director of Nurses at Murdoch Center in Butner, N.C. A graveside service will be held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 in Peninsula Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the home of Gordon and Judy Gentry following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lee Hall Baptist Church, 17531 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23603. Arrangements by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home."
