Read More	Obituary provided by Waggykat, Find A Grave contributor 48407627: Pauline Waldow CULBERTSON - Pauline Waldow was born on January 24, 1926, to David and Selma (Tietz) Luft. She was the first child born and raised on the family farm near Froid. She often told tales of riding a horse named Pete to the rural school she attended on those days her father allowed her to ride. She was proud of her contributions to her family, which included helping in the fields, helping her father in the blacksmith shop and caring for her younger siblings. Pauline was baptized, confirmed and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Pauline met Otto Waldow while she was working at the McCormick Café. They married on June 15, 1946, at the Lutheran Church in Froid. They farmed north of Culbertson from 1946 until they built their home in Culbertson in 1964. While she devoted the largest part of her time to family, she was delighted to have worked as an election judge and at the Culbertson museum. Volunteering was an essential part of Pauline's life. Her volunteer efforts included working with the Culbertson Food Bank, belonging to various service organizations, involvement in assistance to the elderly, doing hair at the nursing home's beauty shop, listening to school children reading, singing in the church choir and caring for an aunt for several years. She treasured her time working with the pastor to create banners for the church. The Lutheran World Relief received over 155 quilts and about 25 school bags made by Pauline. She treasured her well-deserved 1998 Senior Citizen of the Year for Roosevelt County award and then spent another 307 hours volunteering from 2000 to 2002. Pauline loved crafts, gardening, playing the guitar and her harmonica. She continued to play the harmonica upon request while in the nursing home. Pauline passed Friday morning, June 26, 2009. Her parents, her husband, Otto, numerous friends and relatives preceded her in death. Pauline's relationship with Jesus Christ enabled her to bring into the lives of many people the true meaning of service to God for God's glory. Published by Billings Gazette on Jun. 28, 2009.
