She was born on Dec. 19, 1926 in Springfield, CO to Armand P. & Gweneth I. (Jerby) Lesperance. She was raised in Stockton, KS and graduated from Stockton High School in 1944. She came to Concordia in 1945 and moved to Oklahoma in 1948 and returned to Concordia in 1963. She married Jimmie D. Rossiter on March 2, 1948 and he preceded her on July 8, 1968. She later married Jack Strait, the love of her life, on May 28, 1971 and they were married for 46 years. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 25 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Jack, Concordia; daughter, Lisa Schubert (Cris), Chaseburg, WI; step-sons, Renus Strait (Donna), South Dakota, Danny Strait (Carla), Quinlin, TX & Jay Strait (Kim), Concordia; 12 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Rossiter; her parents; a son, Dolan Rossiter; brothers, Paul, Darrell & Don Lesperance & a sister, Verla Jean Lesperance. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tues., Aug. 22, 2017 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be Tuesday from 8 am until the service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
