On February 17, 1910 she was united in marriage to Jacob Van Zante and the family home was established in the Pella vicinity until 1946 when the couple retired and moved to Pella. To this union were born two children, namely, Harold D. & Wilma (Mrs. Edward) Schippers of Monroe. Those left to mourn her passing are her two children, one grandson, Keith Schippers of Monroe, four brothers: Engle and Huber of Pella, Henry and David of Knoxville, and four sisters, Mrs. Ida Gaass of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Clara Van Zee, Mrs. Sarah De Haan, and Miss Ruth Van Steenis of Pella. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Arie, and one sister, Maggie. Mrs. Van Zante was a member of the Third Reformed Church, Pella. Scripture and prayer services were held at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home prior to the memorial services at 2 o'clock at the Third Reformed Church, the Rev. Wilbur Ringnalda officiating. Interment was made in the Porterville Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were: Elmer Klein, Raymond Van Steenis, Clarence Van Steenis, Merl Van Steenis, Adrian De Haan, and Marion Verros. Two selections were rendered, namely, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Sometime We'll Understand" by Ralph De Cook, accompanied Mrs. Ralph De Cook. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Peter Bloem and Mrs. Tunis Dykstra. (contributed by Shannon Agee)
