Read More	Pearl Evelyn Niehaus Hamilton of Clarksville, Iowa was born on October 10, 1924 in rural Butler County near Clarksville. She was the daughter of Ralph and Alice (Folkers) Frerichs. Pearl was baptized on March 15, 1925 at her parents' home in Clarksville and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church on March 17, 1940. She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1942 and attended Business College in Des Moines. Pearl, 96, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. On June 20, 1943 Pearl married Martin J. Niehaus at St. John Lutheran Church. They farmed in rural Allison and Clarksville until 1955, when they moved to Clarksville. They resided there until Martin's death on August 17, 1971. Pearl married Elwood Hamilton on February 19, 1982 at Clarksville Community Church. They made their home in Clarksville enjoying their retirement by traveling, golfing and spending time with their families until Rod's death on March 22, 1989. Pearl was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge #533 and Past Noble Grands. She worked at Ray's Buy-Low for many years, served as secretary of Clarksville Community School Board for twenty years, and worked as bookkeeper at Voss Milling Company for twenty years. Pearl liked to exercise and was an avid golfer, with bragging rights to two holes in one. She crocheted many afghans and doilies, played solitaire on the computer, enjoyed reading and doing word search books. She loved to bake for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her famous chocolate cake was always a must and many cookies and pies were a welcome treat. After selling her home in 2010, Pearl moved to Clarksville Retirement Village. There she enjoyed visiting with neighbors, playing cards and going to pot luck dinners. On July 13, 2013, Pearl moved to Westside Assisted Living Suites and on January 2, 2018 she was admitted to Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sisters: Ruth (Ed) Lubben, Charlotte (Harold) Wyatt, Dorothy (Raymond) Hummel, and brothers: Paul (Louise) Frerichs and Don (Marilyn) Frerichs. Pearl is survived by daughters: Bonnie (Keith) Oltmann, Joyce (Merlyn) Hirsch, Karen (Paul) Miller; one son, Donnie (Sharon Buddenhagen) Niehaus; eight grandchildren: David Oltmann, Tom (Malu Talon) Oltmann, Aaron (Christie Carr) Hirsch, Jill (William) Backer, Adam (Shannon Weber) Henning, Matthew (Jennifer Montgomery) Niehaus, Chad (Lisa Lyons) Niehaus and Jason Niehaus; fifteen great grandchildren: Tyler, Hailey Pearl, Luke and Cole Hirsch; Mason, Miles, Maxim, Meyer, Paitynn and Barrett Niehaus; Seneka, Tieg and Berklee Henning; Mario and Travis Oltmann; four step-children: Kathleen Hamilton, James (Patricia) Hamilton, Colleen Hamilton (special friend, Dean Larson) and Sylvia (Steve) Rogers; step-grandchildren: Hannah (Nu'u) Punimata, Jacob (Brittney) Hamilton, Allyson Mullesch, Nicolas (Larissa) Mullesch; step-great-grandchildren: Miles Mullesch, Emily Rogers and Alex Rogers; and sister-in-law, Marilyn (Don) Frerichs of Clarksville. Funeral will be 10:30, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in the Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 Saturday, at St. John Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. Redman Funeral & Cremation Services in Clarksville is in charge of arrangements.
