She had been in failing health the past year. For three weeks she was hospitalized and then her health improved suffciently so that she was allowed to go home Sunday. She spent the day with her son, John, and that evening became worse, returning to the hospital where her condition failed to improve. She was born Pearl Jensen in Denmark on September 22 1875. Her parents were Elizabeth and Jens Peter Jensen. She was the last surviving member of the family of eight children. In 1883 she came with her parents to this country, living in Shelby county for three year and then coming to Wester Nebraska in 1886. She has lived here since that time with the exception of 14 years hen she made her home in Wisconsin and Illinois. On October 16, 1898, she was united in marriage to Kirk McCall in a stone house which is still partially standing in Ash Hollow. Rev Dennis Clary, father of M. P. Clary, performed the wedding ceremony. Two children, both surviving, were born to the couple. They are: Mrs. Helen Curtis of Omaha and John McCall of Lewellen. There are also five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren still surviving. During most of her life she was active in community affairs and endeared herself to everyone she knew. She was a member of the Lutheran church, Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 2.00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran church with Rev. W. C. Heidenreich officiating and the Wright Funeral home in charge. Burial will be in Ash Hollow cemetery with the Royal Neighbors holdings graveside services.
