Born June 13, 1907, in New London, he was the son of Michael and Estella Dillavou Henessee. He married Stella McDorman on Dec. 30, 1936. She died Sept. 2, 1997. Read More	The Burlington Hawkeye, January 30,2002 Pearl Henessee Pearl Michael Henessee, 94, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant. Born June 13, 1907, in New London, he was the son of Michael and Estella Dillavou Henessee. He married Stella McDorman on Dec. 30, 1936. She died Sept. 2, 1997. Mr. Henessee attended radio electronic training school in Chicago, and worked as a supervisor in the publishing firm for Collier's and Ladies' Home Journal in Chicago, returning to the family farm near New London to help out during the Great Depression. He worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant until 1945, and then worked for International Harvester in Mount Pleasant for 30 years, until his retirement. He was a great family man and loved to tell funny stories. He enjoyed inventing small items for the home and garden, creating unusual gifts for his children and grandchildren. During the early years, he was a member of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and helped in building the new Baptist Church on South Main, seeing to it that his family was in attendance every Sunday. In more recent years, he was a member of Harmony Bible Church and the Plus 50's Group. Survivors include one son, David Henessee of Mount Pleasant; four daughters, Mary Hunting of Mount Pleasant, Ruth Fobes of Marshfield, Lois Schmidt of Grantsburg, Wis., and Linda Perry of Duluth, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Henessee will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harmony Bible Church, with Pastors Mark Connelly and Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. A memorial has been established for his church.
