She was born April 10, 1893 near Iowa Falls, Ia. and was 82 years, 3 months and 7 days of age at the time of her death. She was educated at a rural school near Iowa Falls and graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1911, receiving a B.A. Degree from Ellsworth College in 1917. She taught school at Paulina, Ia. from 1917 to 1919, attending summer school at the University of Chicago studying Religious Education, taught near Iowa Falls, at Lisbon, N.D. from 1921 to 1923, attended summer school at the University of Colorado at Boulder, taught at Madison S.D. and at Minneapolis,Minn. from 1924 to 1925. She was married to Olaf C. Eliason Sept. 2, 1925 at Iowa Falls. They farmed in Wright County for many years. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was originally a member of the Congregational Church and became a member of the Methodist Church at Kanawha, Ia. after her marriage. She continued her education at home with a vast library. She served in the church as Sunday school teacher and was past president of the Wright County Democratic Womens Club and the American Rose Society. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Arthur [Johanna] Berkenes of Kanawha, Ia. and Mrs Shirley Haupt of Cedar Falls, Ia.; 2 sons Willian of Clarion, IA. and George of Clear Lake, Ia; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. John [Mary] Weddle of Dows, Ia. and Mrs. Helen Sullivan of Portland, Ore.; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Olaf in 1973 and a brother.
