Information received from a family member Sharon Ware on January 11, 2015: "Permelia McDaniel married James Jones on February 28, 1813, in Bath County, Kentucky. James and Permelia are found on the 1820 census of Delaware Co, IN (Rush Co was formed in 1822), 1830 and 1840 census of Rush Co. James died in 20 Jan 1842." James and Permelia are found on the 1820 census of Delaware Co, IN (Rush Co was formed in 1822), 1830 and 1840 census of Rush Co. James died in 20 Jan 1842." Permelia is shown in the 1850 Census of Rush County, Indiana, age the age of 52 living with her family: Frances M. Jones, 19 Paulina Jones, 15 William J. Jones, 12 Sarah A. Jones, 10 Loami Lively, 32 (son-in-law) Matilda Lively, 31 (daughter) James Lively, 8 Elias Lively, 5 Permelia Lively, 1 On March 9, 1854, Asberry & Helen Baker sold Permelia & William J. Jones 106 3/4 acres in the southwest quarter of Section 9, Township 72, Range 13, of Wapello County, Iowa for $1200.00. (Wapello County Deed Book H, Page 208). This William J. Jones was evidently the son who was 15-years-old in 1950. Between the time this land was bought in 1854 and July 6, 1858, William J. had also evidently died, as this land was sold again to John C. Scott, and signing the deed were eight people, all of Wapello County, who would have been Permelia & James' one surviving son, three daughters, and their spouses: Laomi Lively and his wife, Matilda Jonathan Jones and his wife, Margaret William Dimmitt and his wife, Paulina Ora O. Owen and his wife, Sarah A. Neither Permelia nor her son William had an estate in Wapello County, and it was unusual for land to pass this way without one. The land was sold to John C. Scott for $1772.00. (Wapello County Deed Book K, Page 336) This is the only documented proof that I have been able to find that at that time, the four surviving children of Permelia & James Jones were: Matilda Lively, Jonathan Jones, Paulina Dimmitt, and Sarah A. Owen. As yet, I have not been able to find a burial place for Permelia's husband, James.
