Read More	Tipton county lost another of its long-time residents and one of its best citizens Wednesday afternoon, when Pernial Blazer, 73, died, at his country home 4 1/2 miles west of Tipton. Death ended an illness of five weeks,in bed, but his health broke about two years ago when he suffered a slight attack of paralysis. He had been failing since that time. No truer, upright and better respected citizen than Pernial Blazer has ever resided in Tipton county and during his 71 years in Tipton county, he was never found wanting. As a husband and father, he was kind and devoted. As a friend he would go the limit. Many will mourn the passing of this man who for years was known as one of the county's prominent farmers, stock men and a citizen always dependable. Following the death the body was removed to the Young mortuary to prepare it for burial and was returned to the home at noon Thursday to lie in state until the hour of the funeral. Services are to be conducted at the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. H. R. Pearcy in charge and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Pernial Blazer was born in Meigs county, Ohio, April 3, 1861, near the Athens county line, a son of Mordica and Nancy (Sewell) Blazer and when two years of age came to this county with his mother and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Sewell, who settled on a farm west of Tipton. His father Mordica Blazer, was killed in the civil war, and the son did not remember seeing him. His mother several years after removing to this county was united in marriage to George McColley and one son George W. McColley, whose death occurred in Tipton, was born to this union. March 14, 1883 the deceased was united in marriage to Miss Vollen Mount, a daughter of John Thomas and Elizabeth (Stewart) Mount, both residents of Tipton at the time of their death. Mrs. Blazer is a sister of former Judge Walter W. Mount of Tipton and a sister of the late Mrs. A. G. Burkhart of Tipton. The widow and two children survive, Mrs. Nola Blanche Nash, wife of William Guy Nash and Earl Blazer, both residing in the community west of Tipton. A son Mordica, died November 27, 1907. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Oliver, Martha, William, Mordica and John Nash and Ralph, Dorothy and Margaret Blazer. A large number of nephews and nieces also survive. Although not a member Pernial Blazer was a regular attendant at the West Street Christian church and gave It his support and financial aid. He was a man who will be sorely missed in the community in which he leaves a legion of friends. Sunday, March 12, 1933, the deceased and his wife celebrated their golden wedding at their beautiful country home, their family, relatives and a number of friends sharing in the occasion.
