Description	:	Perry Miller, son of Minor and Polly Miller, was born in Romulus, Sincerity County, New York, February 13, 1924, and died at his home, Afton, Union County, Iowa, Mary 30, 1918, aged 94 years, 1 month and 17 days. When he was four years old his parents moved to Detroit, Michigan. In 1849 he was married to Lydia Ackerman. To this union was born three children. The mother died in June 1866, leaving him the care of the children. He came to Iowa in 1861 and in 1867 he was married to Sarah Thompson and to this union were born... Read More	Perry Miller, son of Minor and Polly Miller, was born in Romulus, Sincerity County, New York, February 13, 1924, and died at his home, Afton, Union County, Iowa, Mary 30, 1918, aged 94 years, 1 month and 17 days. When he was four years old his parents moved to Detroit, Michigan. In 1849 he was married to Lydia Ackerman. To this union was born three children. The mother died in June 1866, leaving him the care of the children. He came to Iowa in 1861 and in 1867 he was married to Sarah Thompson and to this union were born seven children. The two oldest, Minnie and May died in 1879. His companion preceded him in death just 15 months, dying January 4, 1917. He is survived by 8 children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The children are Alice Lary of Afton; Perry of St. Joe; Jane Morrison of Cripple Creek, Colorado; Clinton of Creston; Maude Moore of Indianola; Charles of Creston; Bert and Chauncy of Afton. The stepchildren are Eunice Ballard of Charleton; Lottie Reagan of Arkedelphia, Arkansas. Besides the relatives there are a host of friends and neighbors who mourn his death. The children cherish the memory of a kind and loving father. He has been a very rugged man, being dressed and at his place at the table the morning before he passed away. Owing to advanced age he was compelled to give up active workk, but had ben able to care for himself. Since the death of his companion he had ofter spoken of his loneliness and being ready and anxious for the reunion which he felt sure awaited him in the home not made with hands. While there is always sadness at a time like this, the children feel that they have been fortunate and favored to have his presence so long, and can truly say, "God is good."
