Read More	Correctionville News, 11 February 1926, page 1: Word reached Correctionville Sunday of the death of Perry Miller, a former resident of Correctionville, but lately residing in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Perry Oscar Miller, son of Alva and Roxanna (Moon) Miller, was born near Correctionville at the old home place where the parents still reside, June 22, 1893. He died in Moe Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, February 6, 1926, at the age of 32 years, 7 months and 15 days. He attended school and grew to manhood in this vicinity, going to South Dakota in his early 20s where he met and married Pearl Mae Burnett, June 27, 1917. To this union one son, Junior, was born in November 1918. This son, together with the wife and parents, and one brother and one sister, together with numerous other relatives, survive. One brother preceded him in death. He enlisted in the service at Howard, South Dakota, on May 15, 1913, and was assigned to organization 337 field artillery, Battery F 163, 88th Division. With many others he received honorable discharge February 6, 1919, at Camp Dodge, Iowa. He sailed for France August 1, 1918, and left France on his return home January 9, 1919. He was a member of the American Legion, which had charge of his last sad rites. As has been the fate of so many of our soldier boys, his history ever since his return has been one of suffering and gradual decline of health, although he worked as long as it was possible for him to do so. The remains were shipped to Correctionville, reaching here Tuesday and funeral services were held on Wednesday in charge of Rev. Hulse of the Methodist Church, assisted by members of the American Legion, and interment was made in Good Hope Cemetery north of town.
