Read More	Pete Overby October 26, 1932 - February 3, 2021 Pete Overby, 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 3, 2021, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville. Born October 26, 1932, in Draper, NC, Pete was the son of the late George and Lelia Dorsett Overby. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Higgins Overby of the home; his sons, Stan Overby of Lewisville, Jeff Overby of Eden, Clint Simpson (Angela) of Eden and Adam Simpson (Samantha Williams) of Danville, VA; six grandchildren, Stephanie Washburn of Wilmington, Jordan Overby of Eden, Sydney Gammons (Stephen) of Eden, Sarah Williams of Danville, VA, Sara Overby of Winston-Salem and Matthew Simpson of Eden; special family, Heather and Justin Craw, Kaitlyn, Madelyn and Evelyn of Georgia; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pete was blessed to have numerous life-long friends; too many to name. However, two “brothers” must be named, Morris Knutsen of South Dakota and Stanley Skirmont of Illinois. These gentlemen served in Korea together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Overby; daughter, Michelle Nowlin; brother, Freddy Overby and sister, Rebecca Cook. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, February 6, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Danview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (2 – 3 PM) at Fair Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Danview Cemetery Maintenance, PO Box 594, Eden, NC 27289.
