Description	:	Peter Boellerschen, who had been a resident of Chickasaw county for fifty-five years, passed away at Independence on his 86th birthday. The deceased was born at Munster, Province of Westphalen, Germany. He grew up in his native country and learned the tailor's trade. He came to America in 1860 and located in New Vienna, Dubuque county, Iowa, and carried on a tailoring business. Read More	Peter Boellerschen, who had been a resident of Chickasaw county for fifty-five years, passed away at Independence on his 86th birthday. The deceased was born at Munster, Province of Westphalen, Germany. He grew up in his native country and learned the tailor's trade. He came to America in 1860 and located in New Vienna, Dubuque county, Iowa, and carried on a tailoring business. The family came to Chickasaw county in 1867 and settled on a farm five miles northwest of New Hampton, where they remained until 1875, when Mr. Boellerschen entered the dry goods and grocery business at North Washington. With the coming of the Chicago Great Western railway and the establishing of a station at Devon. Mr Boellerschen opened a store there, wheich he sold in 1900 and removed to New Hampton. This city had been his home since that time. He was united in marriage with Mary Anna Doeking at New Vienna in 1864. To them were born six children, of whom four survive. They are Joseph Boellerschen, Mrs J.H. Zimmer and Mrs. J.F. Wagner, all of New Hampton, and Mrs John Nuebel of Parkston, South Dakota; Frank died when a child and Mrs Michael Zimmer passed away Augsut 2, 1915. He also leaves three step-children - Mrs Joseph Schwartz of Chicago; Mrs. Fred Conzemius and Joseph Goetz of Armour, South Dakota. Mr. Boellerschen's wife died in New Hampton May 4, 1906 and on Sept 15, 1907, he was united in marriage with Mrs Anna Goetz. Notes; Had been in declining health the past few years, the immediate cause of death was apoplexy which occurred ten days before death. To find gravesite, enter main gate, go south a short distance, then it's off to yor right about 100 feet.
