The photos are of his three sons. The first photo is Thomas Jefferson Grass, my great-grandfather. Peter was the son of: Jacob Grass b. Abt. 1778 d. Aft. 1860 Jemima Holdaway Grass b. Abt. 1776 d. Aft. 1860. Jacob and Jemima were married, 30 Aug 1805, in Bath, Virginia. They were living as early as 1809, in the area of Davis Trace Fork of Mud River of present day Lincoln County, West Virginia. The boundaries of this land were disputed between Cabell, Putnam and Kanawha Counties for many years. Peter was born 02 May 1812, in (West) Virginia and died 17 Nov 1892, in Griffithsville, Duval District, Lincoln County, West Virginia. He had land grants on the waters of Clymer's Creek, a branch of Trace Fork, and on the waters of Turkey Creek, another branch of Trace Fork, of Mud River. This is in the general area where his parents lived. Peter Grass married Malinda J Spurlock before 1854 in Cabell County, (West) Virginia. Peter was 41 years old and Malinda 16. An age difference of 25 years. Malinda lived 18 years after Peter died with their youngest son, Albert Gallant Grass, and his family. Peter and Malinda had 5 children: 1.
