Description	:	After an illness of 18 months, Peter Holum died at the home of his parents, Wednesday July 11th at 7 p. m. of cancer. Peter Holum was born in Norway Sept. 1875, came to America with his parents in 1878, when they settled in Minnesota. In 1881 they came to this state and have resided here since. Read More	After an illness of 18 months, Peter Holum died at the home of his parents, Wednesday July 11th at 7 p. m. of cancer. Peter Holum was born in Norway Sept. 1875, came to America with his parents in 1878, when they settled in Minnesota. In 1881 they came to this state and have resided here since. Peter was first taken sick in the winter of 1904 and in January 1905 was operated on which seemed to help for a time, but the dread disease again appeared and again he underwent two more operations, which only relieved him temporarily. For three months prior to his death his suffering were terrible. All that money and tender care could do to relieve his sufferings were lavished upon him. Although he knew there was no hope of recovery, he was cheerful and patient. He leaves his aged parents, three brothers, four sisters and a host of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral was held Friday, and the pall bearers were: Eric, Andrew, Martin and Oscar Prestegard, Henry Peterson and Ole Swensen. One sister, Mrs. Bell Forgeson of Minnesta was unable to be present. The funeral services were conducted at the house in Norwegian, by C. O. Peterson and in English by Rev. Hickman of Bath. Interment took place at Union Cemetery, Groton. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the stricken family in their sad bereavement.
