H. Graening in charge. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery. Mr. Johannsen was born March 24, 1853, in Germany. He married Katherine Tuechsen in 1875 and moved to Wyoming with his wife and family in 1896. He worked at the carpenter trade for a few years and then bought a farm, which his son-in-law, August Luckstead, now owns. He retired from active work in 1915 and moved to Wyoming, where he and his wife observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mrs. Johannsen died in 1930. He is survived by four children: Peter, jr., of Anamosa, Mrs. Anna Bruske of Wyoming, Mrs. Katie Luckstead of Monticello, and Mrs. Lizzie Martensen of Amber, 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Maggie Paulsen of Alexandria, Minn., died in 1943.
