Description	:	Peter Essler, 82, Kenmare, died Tuesday at the Kenmare Hospital His funeral was held Saturday, July 30th at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare with burial at the church cemetery. A rosary was recited Friday at the church. Father Joseph Adkins officiated at the services. Casketbearers were James Schoemer, Dean Durick, David Bedim,Felix Essler, James Hansen and Dean Byrd. Peter Paul Essler was born August 29, 1900 at Padua, Mn., to Frank and Anna Essler. He was reared in the area and married Minnie Traeger there Sept 6,1921. In 1928 they moved to North Dakota and began farming in the Kenmare area in 1929. She died August 5, 1940. He married Bertha Siebert at Kenmare Aug. 12, 1942, and they continued to live in Kenmare, In 1953 he began operating the Farmers Union Insurance Agency there and continued to farm. He retired from both occupations in 1972. He was a member and former trustee of St. Agnes church and a member of the church Holy Name Society. He helped organize the Farmers Union Oil Co. and Creamery and served on its board of directors. He also served on the regional board of Land O' Lakes Inc. He was a clerk of the Denmark school District for 22 years. Survivors include his wife; son, Allan, Kenmare; daughters, Gertrude Wheeler, Elk, Wash., Lucille Chesvick, Hesperia, Calif., Joyce McWilliams, Bemidji, Mn., and Maureen Sweet, East Grand Forks, Minn.; 21 grandchildren; 11 great. grandchildren. brothers, Tony, John, Jake and Ben, all Sauk Centre, Minn., and George, Concord, Calif.
