Description	:	Bertha Essler, 76, Kenmare, died Saturday at a Kenmare hospital. Her funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, with burial in the church cemetery. Recitation of the rosary will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare. She was born Nov. 4, 1907, on the family farm near Greene in Renville County, a daughter of William and Louise Siebert. She was reared in that area and graduated from Tolley High School. She earned a teaching certificate at Minot State College in 1928 and taught at rural schools in the Kenmare area until she married Peter Essler at Kenmare Aug. 12, 1942. They farmed in Denmark Township, Ward County, where she was a Farmers Union youth leader for many years. They moved in to Kenmare in 1982. He died July 26, 1983. She was a member of St. Agnes church, the altar society and was one of the first teachers in the Christian Catholic Doctrine program in the parish. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors: son, Allan, Kenmare; daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Wheeler, Elk, Wash., Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) Chesvick, Hesperia, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Joyce) McWilliams, Bemidji, Minn., Mrs. Patrick (Maureen) Sweet, East Grand Forks, Minn.; 21grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester, Tolley, William, Minot; sisters, Mrs. Katherine Schoemer and Mrs. Art (Irene) Hedlin, both Kenmare, Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Erdman, Bottineau, Mrs. Alice Halvorson, Mohall, Mrs. Lloyd (Luella) Armstrong, Sherwood.
