That he has never received any Land from the Crown and being desirous of obtaining a part of the waste lands as a Settler humbly prays your Excellency will be pleased to grant him such portion as your Excellency may deem meet. Your Petitioner further humbly sheweth that he has twin sons named Rudolph & Peter who will be 19 years of age in July next & who being desirous of obtaining locations adjacent to your Petitioner's should his petition be favorably received, your Petitioner humbly prays also that your Excellency would be pleased to grant them a Reservation of Location each, to be confirmed by Patent when of age, with permission to settle upon & improve in the mean time. And your Petitioner will ever pray. Jacob Rawn - York, 22nd February 1819 On March or May 4, 1824, Peter Rawn of Albion petitioned for land declaring that he was born in Herkimer County, New York - that he was brought to Markham by his father when 3 years old - and that he would be age 24 in July. He received 100 acres, the east half of L19 C6 Caledon Township, which he settled. The deed was dated January 31, 1824 (?) in the County of York (now Peel). Re. Will of Peter Rawn - Petition for probate filed in the Surrogate Court of the County of Peel on June 15, 1875 by executors ... The petition of Jacob Rawn of the Township of Caledon in the County of Peel, farmer and of Hugh Potter of the Township of Albion in the County of Peel, farmer. Humbly Sheweth: That Peter Rawn, late of the Township of Caledon in the County of Peel, farmer, died on or about the Ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five at the Township of Caledon in the County of Peel and that the said deceased at the time of his death had his fixed place of abode at the Township of Caledon in the said County of Peel. That the said deceased in his lifetime duly made his last Will and Testament, bearing the date the nineteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four. That your Petitioners are the executors named in the said Will. That the value of the personal estate and effects of the said deceased which he in any way died possessed of or entitled to, and for and in respect to which a probate of the said will is to be granted are of or about the value of twenty dollars to the best of your Petitioners knowledge and belief. Wherefore your Petitioners pray that probate of the said Will of the said deceased may be granted to them by this Honourable Court.
