| Description | : | The Holland Dakota Landbouw Compagnie was promoting Dutch families to move to North Dakota to become tenant farmers. A party of 44 left for America on June 18, 1910 on the Rijndam leaving from Rotterdam arriving on June 29, 1910, in New York, with a final destination of Belfield, North Dakota. The Holland Dakota Landbouw Compagnie’s operations did not have the success they had anticipated. The organization eventually dissolved and began selling land to their tenant farmers. About 10 families remained in the area, while the other Hollanders either went back to Holland or relocated to other parts of America. |
