Description	:	Peter Wieck, 81, a retired farmer of the Worms community, died Saturday morning, September 17, in a Grand Island hospital. Mr. Wieck had been in ill health for two months and had been seriously ill for two days. His home was at 215 East Koenig street. Mr. Wieck was born Dec. 17, 1867 at Al. Bennebek, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Franz Wieck. Mr. Wieck received his education and grew to manhood in his native country. In March of 1893, he emigrated to Grand Island, and farmed near there for one year. Mr. Wieck and Miss Wiebke Hargens were married here Mar. 29, 1895. In that year, they moved to a farm in Merrick county, in the Worms community, where they made their home for 45 years. In 1940 they retired from the farm and moved to Grand Island to make their home. Mr. Wieck was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in his native country. He was one of the earliest members of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Worms. On March 29, 1945, he and Mrs. Wieck observed their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. Wieck is survived by his wife, four sons, Frank and Alfred Wieck of Grand Island and Oscar and Lawrence Wieck of St. Libory; five daughters, Miss Emma Wieck, at home; Mrs. David Dunn, and Mrs. Paul May, Grand Island; Mrs. Leon Manning of Chapman and Mrs. Elmer Garbe of Los Angeles, and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Wieck, his parents, two brothers, Franz and John Wieck, and two sisters, Mrs. Tena Schroeder and Mrs. Margaret Siek.
