Description	:	Brookville, Feb. 26--Peter Yost, an old and honored citizen of this county, died from the effects of cancer at the home of Chas. Yost, Monday morning February 23. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Caughlan, Methodist pastor, and interment was made in Birmingham cemetery Wednesday. Mr. Yost was born in Greene county, Ohio, in 1832, came to Iowa in 1848, was married to Margaret Smith in 1854. Read More	Brookville, Feb. 26--Peter Yost, an old and honored citizen of this county, died from the effects of cancer at the home of Chas. Yost, Monday morning February 23. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Caughlan, Methodist pastor, and interment was made in Birmingham cemetery Wednesday. Mr. Yost was born in Greene county, Ohio, in 1832, came to Iowa in 1848, was married to Margaret Smith in 1854. Six children blessed this union, two sons and four daughters, all of whom are living, except one son, who died in infancy. Mr. Yost was converted in childhood and united with the Methodist church and remained a faithful worker until 1892. Changing his residence at that time, he then united with the Cumberland Presbyterians. Three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Yost went to California and spent one year there for the benefit of the latter's health. They returned here and have since resided in Brookville with their son and family. They again united with the Methodists here and have made many friends during their two years' residence here. All of their married life was spent near Libertyville and in Van Buren county until very recently. Peter Yost has many old friends who have known him long as a kind and gracious man. He bore his suffereings patiently and was resigned to the will of God. He was fully prepared to enter into the joys he so richly deserved. He was cared for tenderly and with loving hands during his illness, and his grief stricken companion and children have the sympathy of their many friends in this sad loss--that of a loving husband and father.
