They arrived about twenty-four hours before his death, he passing away on Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, at the age of 70 years. The remains were brought here and funeral services held yesterday at the Caholic church in Willey, after which the body was placed in the Willey cemetery beside that of the wife of the deceased, who died four years ago. They arrived about twenty-four hours before his death, he passing away on Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, at the age of 70 years. The remains were brought here and funeral services held yesterday at the Caholic church in Willey, after which the body was placed in the Willey cemetery beside that of the wife of the deceased, who died four years ago. Mr. Zenner was for years one of the highly respected residents of Carroll county, but having made his home of late with his daughter, Mrs. Mary Southwell of Sac City, at which place he died. He had been for many years a sufferer with sciatic reheumatism, which, complicated with heart touble, was the immediate cause of his death. Ten children survive to mourn their loss, only four of whom, Larry Zenner, Mrs. Joe Winthouser, Mrs. Wm. Wells and Mrs. Peter Gute reside in this community. ---------------------------------------- Peter Zenner married Anna Nick, daughter of Jacob Nick, on May 8, 1855 in New York City, New York. They are listed in the 1870 and 1880 censuses as living in Mayfield, De Kalb, Illinois; parents of: Annie, Margaret, Catherine, Christina, Mary, Joseph, Lawrence, Lizzie, Josephine, and Susan. The 1885 census shows the family living at Richland Township, Carroll county, Iowa.
