Description	:	Mrs. Christina Gute of Glidden, 74, well known Carroll county resident, died at the St. Anthony hospital at 5 o'clock Friday afternoon after a lingering illness of six months. She was the widow of Peter Gute. The body will rest at the Huffman Funeral home until the hour of servies. Mrs. Gute, whose maiden name was Christina Zenner, was born Feb. 2, 1863, at Sycamore, Illinois. When a girl of 18, she came to Iowa with her parents who located on a farm three and one half miles south of Glidden. She was united in marriage to Peter Gute April 7, 1885 at Carroll. For many years they lived on their farm south of Glidden. After the death of her husband, she resided in the town of Glidden. Mr. and Mrs. Gute were the parents of four children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Ludy Schulte, Sac City; Joe Gute, Mrs. William Lappe and George Gute, all of Glidden. Mrs. Gute also leaves 9 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters; Mrs. Joe Winyhouser, Carroll; Mrs. William Wells, Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Phil Rice, Glidden; Joe Zenner, Hohrville, and Larry Zenner, Wentworth, S.D. Mrs. Gute was a member of the Roman Catholic church, in which she took a deep interest. She as an active member of the Glidden unit of the American Legion auxiliary until her health failed.
