On Oct 23 1943 we recieved word that he was in Italy. On Jan 25 1944 he was wounded and spent time in the hospital. Upon his release, he was sent back to the front to rejoin his unit and was killed July 1 1944 near Rome, Italy.Born Aug 11 1923 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio, Don attended South High School and worked for Swallows Beverage Co. and Shook Laundry. |
