Funeral services were 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche with the Rev. Anthony Bradseth officiating. Burial followed at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. He attended school in Belle Fourche while growing up on the family farm. Jack enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked for Rod Barnes Packing House in Huron for a year where he met Donna Fisher. In 1967 he married Donna and to this union a daughter, Laura was born. After his divorce he spent time working at the Rawhide Arizona Dude Ranch before returning to South Dakota to farm in the Belle Fourche and Arpan area. In 1976 he married Dalonda Tessness and to this union four children were born, Jason, Joshua, Jennifer and Jared. The family moved to Rapid City and have remained there up until the time of his death. Jack successfully built several businesses in the Rapid City area and most recently was in partnership with his oldest son, Jason and also worked along side Joshua and Jared in the family business of A-1 Sewer and Drain. Jack enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, livestock and farming. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
