At a young age the family moved to Sioux Falls where Lyle grew up and received his education. Lyle served in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954 and was stationed in France. Read More	Lyle A. Petit Jr., 74, died on May 1, 2006 in Mission, TX. Lyle Arthur Petit, son of Lyle and Inez Mae (Damm) Petit was born in Egan, SD on March 22, 1932. At a young age the family moved to Sioux Falls where Lyle grew up and received his education. Lyle served in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954 and was stationed in France. Following his honorable discharged Lyle returned to Sioux Falls and attended Nettleton College. Lyle met and was united in marriage with Marva Lee on May 4, 1957. For the majority of his working career, Lyle worked as a salesman. Lyle was a member of St. Michael Parish, a lifetime member of the VFW, the American Legion the 40et8, and was a member of the American Legion Chorus. For the past 10 years, Lyle and Marva have wintered in Mission, TX, where he enjoyed golfing, playing cards and woodcarving. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Marva Lee, Sioux Falls; sons, Jayden Petit, Houston, TX, David (Mary) Petit; Sioux Falls; daughters, Valerie (Ron) Peters, Deborah Boyles, all of Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren, Angel Petit, Cherylyn Peters, Barbra Peters, Michael boyles, Kathleen Boyles, David Boyles, Jeffrey Boyles, Kathrine Petit, Matthew Petit,John Petite; 7 great-grandchildren; Cody Petit, Abigal Alberts, Jozlyn Peters, Cameron Peters, Natalie Peters, Thomas Lane, Kaylee Boyles; brother, Ronald (Pat) Petit, Rochester, MN; sisters, Judy Larson, and Linda (Bob) Baines, all of Sioux Falls. In addition to his parents, a son, John, and four brothers preceded Lyle in death. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, May 6, 2006 at St. Michael Parish.
