OBITUARY William Roscoe Landrum, age 68 years, 8 months, 18 days of Jackson, Route 1, passed away Monday evening at 10:30 p.m. October 11, 1976, at the Veterans Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia where he had been a patient for the past two weeks, suffering from several strokes. He was born February 22, 1908 and was a lifetime resident of Jackson County, except when he served his country in World War II for 3 years, of which most of that time was spent overseas. He was a lifetime farmer and was a retired worker from the Jackson Iron and Steel Company. He was married to Garnet Ruby Rowland February 23, 1946. To this union four children were born: Marvin Roscoe, Mary Kathryn Maynard, Margaret Alice & Marlin James. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar Landrum and Effie C. (Ervin) Landrum; his sister, Kathryn C. Landrum Scurlock. He leaves to mourn: his wife Garnet R. Landrum, his four children, Marvin Roscoe Landrum of Route 2, Wellston, Mary Kathryn Maynard of Route 4, Jackson, Margaret Alice and Marlin James Landrum, at home, and four grandchildren, Marvin Lee, Rodney Dale and Angela Leenet Landrum and Roger Dale Maynard, who dearly miss him. He is also survived by three brothers, Harry Landrum, of Route 3, Jackson, Harold Landrum of Route 5, Jackson, Eugene Landrum of Columbus; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He was a family man and always working around his home when he was able. He was a good friend and neighbor, always ready to help others when they needed help. He was well known and loved by family and friends. I cannot say, I Will not say, That he is dead - he is just away, Where you can go and call to mind, The pleasant hours we've spent together. In bliss to be forgotten never. Think of him as the same, I say He is not dead - He is just away. Sadly missed by His loving wife, children and grandchildren. SET LANDRUM RITES William Roscoe Landrum, 68, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Veterans Administration hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. A resident of Jackson route one (Franklin township), he was a native and lifetime resident of Jackson county and was a retired farmer and employee of Jackson Iron & Steel Co. He was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Garnett Rowland Landrum, four children, Marvin Landrum, of Wellston route two; Mary Kathryn Maynard of Jackson route four, Margaret Alice Landrum and Marlin James Landrum, at home; four grandchildren, three brothers: Harry and Harole of Jackson and Gene of Columbus. Friends may call any time Thursday at the Eisnaugle funeral home where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Donald Ashton officiating.
