Description	:	DIED - On Tuesday, July 5, 1881, at the residence of J. F. Briggs, in Fullerton, Neb., Miss Philena Groves, aged 38 years, 1 mo, 2 days. After a sickness of 48 hours with fits, she left this world of trouble to rest in heaven, with her mother, who had gone before and was waiting her coming on the other brighter shore. Miss Groves was a sister of Mrs. J. F. Briggs and was attacked with fits while still a child. All efforts to save her by change of climate, etc, proved fruitless, and during the last 48 hours of her... Read More	DIED - On Tuesday, July 5, 1881, at the residence of J. F. Miss Groves was a sister of Mrs. J. F. Briggs and was attacked with fits while still a child. All efforts to save her by change of climate, etc, proved fruitless, and during the last 48 hours of her sickness she suffered with 300 epileptic fits. --In the death notice of Philena Groves, handed in last week, there occurred an error - the date of death being Wednesday, July 15th, instead of July 5th, as published. The above articles were found in an 1881 Nance County clipping file, dates of publication not included. Transcribed by Linda Berney ~~~~~~ Philena was found with her parents in the 1860 census in Hancock County, Ohio, and in 1880 with her sister Philanda Briggs, wife of Fillmore Briggs in Linn County, Iowa. It is not proven she was buried in this cemetery, but seems most likely.
