Description	:	Fredrick, Philip's father, died when Philip was seven in 1891. When Carolina, Philip's mother remarried in 1893, she had to give all her children away. So all the children were taken to different foster homes. Philip was very bitter about this because it separated the family and so he ran away from his foster home when he was 15. They were Fredrick Jr, Christian, Justina, Johannes, and Christina. Philip was the third of the six. He also had four half-brothers and half-sisters: Andrew, Gottfried, Alfred, and Martha. For awhile, he rode freight trains and educated himself best he could. He made it a point to keep tract of his younger sisters and brothers. He also made it a point to see them as often as possible so they would not forget each other. He was essentially a father to them. In addition, Philip made sure his mother also knew what was happening with the various members, thus he kept the family informed of each other. Philip became county Judge 192101931, and County Treasure. He also held other positions such as Chief Game Warden of North Dakota 1936-1937; State hail Ins.; and Inspector of public Sew. Com. Philip married Olga Marie Borchart in 1909, at Anamoose, North Dakota and they had four children: Clarence, Leland, Richard, and Narris.
