Description	:	Aged: 54 Years Fredrick, Christian's father, died when Christian was ten in 1891. When Carolina, Christian's mother, remarried in 1893, she had to give all her children away. So all the children were taken to different foster homes. Christian was taken in by a family in Spink County South Dakota. Christian was the second of six children. When Carolina, Christian's mother, remarried in 1893, she had to give all her children away. So all the children were taken to different foster homes. Christian was taken in by a family in Spink County South Dakota. Christian was the second of six children. His brothers and sisters were: Fredrick Jr, Philip, Justina, Johannes, and Christina. Christian also had four half-brothers and half-sisters: Andrew, Gottfried, Alfred, and Martha. Christian married Anna Sophia Halvorson, the daughter of Reier O. Halvorson and Engborg Hanson Halvorson, in 1924. They had two girls, Opal and Ruby, which Christian called his precious jewels. Bad times often causes some people to lose faith in God. But the turmoil in Christian's early life caused him to search the Bible for answers. He found a very useful book in his search, Bible Readings for the Home Circle, and he used that to help him study his Bible. The Bible was always placed on the table in the reading room and it was read and studied constantly. Initially Christian did not belong to any church. But he became a man with strong convictions and faith so he and Anna, his wife, joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Christian developed a bad case of diabetes. A relative came to help with the farm while he was at the Mao clinic. But during that time the farm animals died and when he returned, the farm and all the big machinery had to be auctioned off. After they lost the farm they moved to a place about a block or two from where he is buried today. The home where they stayed was owned by relatives and they were allowed to live there rent free. During a diabetic attack, Christian fell off the barn roof and died a week later.
