Description	:	Oct 17, 1912 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Dagobert Schwenk died at her home on North Clark street, Sunday morning, October 13, at 7:30 o'clock, after suffering for eight years with liver and heart trouble. Mrs. Schwenk was born in Dresden, Ohio, August 28, 1853, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mathern who came to this county from Germany. She was married to Dagobert Schwenk at Toledo, Ohio, April 20, 1873, making their home in Garwin, Iowa, until 1900 and since that time have resided in Carroll. Read More	Oct 17, 1912 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Dagobert Schwenk died at her home on North Clark street, Sunday morning, October 13, at 7:30 o'clock, after suffering for eight years with liver and heart trouble. Mrs. Schwenk was born in Dresden, Ohio, August 28, 1853, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mathern who came to this county from Germany. She was married to Dagobert Schwenk at Toledo, Ohio, April 20, 1873, making their home in Garwin, Iowa, until 1900 and since that time have resided in Carroll. There are four sons and three daughters left to mourn the deceased: Joe of Omaha, Verne L. of Chicago, John L. of New Wesminister, British Columbia, Lawrence C., Mrs. L.E. Berry, Mae L., and Grace L. of this city, and besides her husband, four sisters and one brother. Mrs. Schwenk was a loving and devoted mother and wife, a member of SS Peter and Paul's church and of the Rosary Society of that parish. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, October 16, at 9:30 o'clock, at SS. Peter and Paul's church by Rev. Father Kuemper and the remains were laid to rest in the SS. Peter and Paul's cemetery. Those from out of town attending the funeral of Mrs. D. Schwenk were: Mr. and Mrs. J. Brecht, of Norway, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. S Schwenk, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Peter Schwenk of Leavenworth, Kansas; Vern L. Schwenk of Chicago, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Enright, Mrs. Joe Loeberger and Mrs. F. Brecht of Garwin, Iowa; and John L. and Mae L. Schwenk of New Westminister, British Columbia, who left that place Friday, the llth, and on account of their not arriving here until Tuesday, the 15th, the funeral which was to be held on that day was postponed until Wednesday.
