Description	:	Philomena "Minnie" Heisler, 91, of Harvey died Sept. 1997 in a Harvey nursing home. She was born to Kasper and Margaret Schwahn on the family farm near Selz, ND. She grew up on the farm and attended rural schools nearby. She married Thomas Heisler Nov. 6, 1923 at Selz. She was born to Kasper and Margaret Schwahn on the family farm near Selz, ND. She grew up on the farm and attended rural schools nearby. She married Thomas Heisler Nov. 6, 1923 at Selz. They lived and farmed in the Esmond, Harvey and Martin areas until 1970 when they retired from farming and moved to Harvey. She was a member of the St Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey. Philomena (Schwahn) Heisler was the fourth and last child of Margaret and Kasper and was born on January 11, 1906 in Pierce County. She was baptized in Strassburg St. Maria Church by Father Gerhard Wilkes. Minnie went to Hillside Township School No. 1 in Pierce County. This school was located in the center of section 26 so all the families would have about the same traveling distance. Minnie married Tom Heisler on November 6, 1923 in the Strassburg county church north of Selz. Tom Heisler was born in Esmond, ND on September 28, 1900. They have 12 children with all but the last two born in Esmond: Leonard - 6/12/1925, Arthur - 10/22/1926, Ewald - 5/4/1929, Ernestine Margaret - 1/1/1932, Daniel Raymond - 9/29/1933, Lorraine Gertrude - 4/25/1935, Eugene Joseph - 6/3/1937, Melvin Thomas - 11/7/1942, Thomas - 3/2/1945 and Judith Ann - 12/2/1951. Two sons died early in their lives: Norbert - 4/19/1928 to 7/11/1928 dying from pneumonia and Marvin - 8/13/1940 to 12/24/1941 dying from Spinal Meningitis.
