Phyllis Kuta was born November 24, 1930 to Frank and Mary (German) Martischang at Pierce, NE. Her family moved to a farm just east of Lindsay, NE, where she graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School in 1949. Read More	Phyllis Mae (Martischang) Kuta, age 90, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at Meridian Gardens in Columbus. Phyllis Kuta was born November 24, 1930 to Frank and Mary (German) Martischang at Pierce, NE. Her family moved to a farm just east of Lindsay, NE, where she graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School in 1949. She worked at Becton-Dickinson in Columbus for nearly 8 years and then married Virgil Kuta on November 22, 1958 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. They lived on a farm southwest of Tarnov, NE before moving to a farm near Silver Creek, NE in 1964. To this union, her four children were born. Phyllis attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church, was a member of the Altar Society, taught catechism for 7 years and was an EME. Phyllis belonged to the Extension Club for many years and she and Virgil played in a card club for over 30 years. In 1997 Phyllis and Virgil moved to Columbus. She was currently a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. Phyllis loved dancing, crafts, gardening, yard work and playing cards. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by: Son: Ken (Tami) Kuta of Panora, IA Daughter: Carrie (Dan) Lauterbach of Louisville, CO Daughter: Kathy (John) Broderick of LaGrange Park, IL Son: Jeff (Shelly) Kuta of Silver Creek, NE Sister: Agnes (Alvin) Kuta of Humphrey, NE Brother: Gene (Lee) Martischang of Atkinson, NE Sister-in-law: Irene Martischang of Lindsay, NE Grandchildren: Hunter Kuta, Kennedy Kuta, Tanner Kuta, Sara (Chris) Vaughan, Jared Lauterbach, Camille Broderick, Jacob Kuta 1 Great Grandchild: Owen Vaughan Aunt: Josephine Kubicki Many cousins, nieces, and nephews She is preceded in death by: Husband: Virgil Kuta Parents: Frank and Mary Martischang Sister: Rosella (Ralph) Koziol Brother: Leon Martischang Niece: Jan Kuta Nephew: Tom Koziol Burial is in All Saints Cemetery.
