Description	:	Phebe S. Lawerence was born in Bennington, Vermont, February 21st, 1809. She moved in childhood to Scaneateles, Onondaga, N.Y. where in July, 1829, she was married to A.H. Jackson. They moved to Medna Co., Ohio, in 1835, residing there for several years. In 1849 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where they lived until 1869 when they moved to Illinois, near Winnebago, where Mr. Jackson died in May, 1862. To them were born eight children, five of whom survive her: Susan J. now of Cleveland, Ohio; J.M. of Marcus, Iowa; John A. of Winnebago, Ill., Phebe... Read More	Phebe S. Lawerence was born in Bennington, Vermont, February 21st, 1809. She moved in childhood to Scaneateles, Onondaga, N.Y. where in July, 1829, she was married to A.H. Jackson. They moved to Medna Co., Ohio, in 1835, residing there for several years. In 1849 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where they lived until 1869 when they moved to Illinois, near Winnebago, where Mr. Jackson died in May, 1862. To them were born eight children, five of whom survive her: Susan J. now of Cleveland, Ohio; J.M. of Marcus, Iowa; John A. of Winnebago, Ill., Phebe E. and George W. of Fairmont, Neb. She fell asleep in Jesus, Sabbath morning, February 5th, 1899, lacking but sixteen days of being 90 years old. In her childhood she became a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, but when she moved to Ohio, she united with the Methodist church there being no organization of her choice near; and when she came west, she united with the Congregational church where most of her family were members. To this church she belonged when her summons called her to the spirit land. The funeral services were held at her late home by Rev. C.A. Stewart. A large number of sympathizing friends were present.
