Description	:	Funeral services for Phyllis M. Pace, 52, Tipton, were held June 14 at First United Methodist church in Tipton. Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiated and burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Donald Hipple was vocalist and Mrs. Kenneth Gould was organist. Pallbearers were Glen and Gene Pace, Jim, Gary, and Randy Boysel; Richard, Alan, David, Steven and Larry Orr, Dan and Brian Burns, Chip Borgstadt and Rod Creque. Mrs. Pace died June 11 at University hospitals in Iowa City following an extended illness. She was born July 14, 1929 in Wapello to Lloyd and Emma Wehmeyer Orr. She attended the Wapell schools and graduated from Muscatine high school in 1949. She attended Muscatine Junior college and received her bachelor of arts degree from the State University of Iowa. She also attended Marycrest college in Davenport. She married Kenneth Pace Aug. 14, 1954 in Nashua. She was a teacher in the Tipton school system for 27 years and had resided in Tipton since 1954. She was a member of the Tipton Education Association, the Iowa State Education Association, the National Education Association and she was a Silver Star member of King's Daughters. She was also past matron of the Tipton Eastern Star. She was a member of the Tipton First United Methodist church. She is survived by husband, Kenneth and a son, Michael, both of Tipton; her stepmother, Bessie Orr, Muscatine; 4 sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Boysel, Muscatine; Mrs. Wayne (Mary) Burns, Muscatine; Mrs. Charles (Jean) Borgstadt, Davenport and Mrs. Edward (Wanda) White, Carwfordsville and 4 brothers, Melvin, John, Wayne and Harlan Orr, all of Muscatine.
